This course provides foundational skills for those looking to enter the dynamic and creative world of screen and media. Students will explore various aspects of film, television, and digital media production, including camera operations, sound recording, editing, and storytelling. This course offers hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, preparing students for entry-level roles or further study in the screen and media industry.

  • 18 years old and above at the time of enrolment
  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • LLN skills demonstration according to “Language, literacy and Numeracy requirements” levels identified
  • Student must have access to Computer, Internet and Printer or e-printer
  • Student must be able to enrol, participate and complete the online course

Course outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will be equipped to:

  • Develop basic skills in camera operations and video production.
  • Gain proficiency in audio recording and editing techniques.
  • Learn foundational editing skills using industry-standard software.
  • Understand the principles of storytelling and scriptwriting.
  • Explore the basics of digital media production and post-production processes.

Pathways

Into the course:  Student who has successfully completed at least year 11 or 12, or is currently working in the industry. Out of the course: Students who successfully complete this qualification may pathway into CUA41220 Certificate IV in Screen and Media.

Payment options 

Payment via Stripe or PayPal upon enrolment. Invoice Option: Pay in up to 4 monthly instalments. Initial payment not to exceed $1,500. Remaining fees due after course start, with due date specified on invoice.

Note for the students:

Fees and Charges: Additional Information

While our course fee of $1500 covers the cost of training and assessment resources, there are some additional expenses that students are responsible for:

1. Digital devices:

  • Students are expected to have their own digital devices, such as a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet, to access the online learning materials and complete assessments.
  • The device should have a reliable internet browser, such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, and be able to run word processing software like Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
  • It is the student's responsibility to ensure their device is compatible with the learning management system and has the necessary specifications to support online learning.

2Internet connection:

  • As this is an online course, students must have a stable internet connection to access learning materials, participate in virtual classes, and submit assessments.
  • The cost of internet connectivity is not included in the course fee and must be borne by the student.
  • We recommend a minimum internet speed of 5 Mbps for a smooth learning experience

3. Textbooks and additional learning resources:

  • While we provide comprehensive training and assessment resources, students may be required to purchase additional textbooks or learning materials depending on the course requirements.
  • Information about any additional textbooks or resources will be provided prior to enrollment, and students are responsible for purchasing these materials separately.

4. Stationery and printing:

  • Students are expected to have basic stationery items, such as notebooks, pens, and pencils, to take notes during virtual classes and complete written assessments.
  • If any assessments need to be printed, the cost of printing is the student's responsibility.

5. Software and applications:

  • Depending on the course, students may need to install specific software or applications to complete assessments or participate in practical activities.
  • The cost of purchasing or subscribing to these software or applications is not included in the course fee, unless otherwise specified.

6. Professional certification or membership fees:

  • Some courses may prepare students for professional certifications or memberships offered by external bodies.
  • The cost of applying for these certifications or memberships, as well as any associated examination fees, is the student's responsibility and is not included in the course fee.
