In this course, you will learn the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines and to be able to respond to and manage first aid incidents. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is trained in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

Mode of Delivery: | Blended online learning and face-to-face training and assessment. |
Duration: | Students must complete online learning before attending the face-to-face training and assessment. The online training will take 6 – 12 hours. The face-to-face training will be conducted in a classroom and take 6 hours, and this is where you will implement your practical skills. |
Pre-requisite | The online training and the assessment workbook must be completed along with a LLN assessment at least 24 hours before attending the face-to-face training. |

This course will teach you the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response. It is suitable for anyone who may be required to provide a first aid response in the community or at a workplace.
The course is fully accredited and nationally recognised training, and upon completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
This qualification is considered the industry standard for many workplace roles and employment categories and is the minimum qualification if you are going to be appointed to a workplace First Aid Officer.

This course is suitable for students who are new to first aid and comfortable learning in a blended delivery setting and students with existing first aid experience. Participants must be physically able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor. First Aid is about dealing with real-life situations that may involve you, colleagues, family, or friends. The training will expose you to conditions and scenarios that can be confronting, and we ask that you come prepared to face situations that may be challenging. First Aid scenarios and practice can be physically demanding on your back and knees, especially while performing CPR, so please advise staff if you have any physical restrictions. Also, please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing on the training day. We prefer that candidates are at least 15 years of age when attending the training. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign and accept responsibility for your enrolment.
